imagen-Spray-TanningThe word “tanning” derives from the color tan; a pale tone of brown.  The term has its origin in the Western culture of Europe, when young women sought a less pale complexion.  A tanned skin became fashionable in the 1920’s when Coco Chanel came back from spending a holiday in the South of France with a tan.

With the bikini making its fashion debut in the 1950’s, a sun tan became a necessity.  However, in the 1960’s health authorities confirmed links between UV exposures, either from sunlight or tanning beds, and the incidence of skin cancer, opening the door to UV-free tanning.

However, not all the UV-free tanning methods are created equal.  Some of these methods are:

Sunless tanning pills, which are unsafe when taken in large amounts, they can turn the skin orange or brown; lotions, creams and gels, have the tendency to cause blotches on the skin.

Air brush tanning is the method generally endorsed by dermatologist, it is a spray on tan performed by a professional, and it can last up to 2 weeks.  Air brush tanning is the only method that will give you a flawless natural looking tan!
